Kundalini Yoga posture - gas pose

Kundalini Yoga incorporates the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga into one cohesive and integrated system. It has a broad emphasis on breathing, meditation, hand positions (mudras), mantras and spirituality.

The practice of Kundalini Yoga is said to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand the lung capacity, and purify the bloodstream. It aims to help you harness the energy of your mind and emotions, so you can be in control of yourself rather than being controlled by your thoughts and feelings.

Along with physical strength and stamina, it builds inner strength and self awareness so you can fulfil your highest potential. It aims to improve the ‘finite life’ while connecting you to the ‘infinite experience’, enabling you to merge or ‘yoke’ with the universal Self. In case you are unfamiliar with terms like these, we have added a glossary to help.

The attached PDF gives you a guide of what to expect during a typical Kundalini Yoga class at Seaford, Frankston or Mt Eliza: Introduction and guidelines for classes.

Please note that Kundalini Yoga and lifestyle tips have benefited millions of people, but they are not intended as medical advice. This is ancient yogic wisdom and the intent is solely for information and education. Always seek the advice of a trained health professional before beginning any exercise program.
